I’m Ethan, owner of Tempest Garage Doors. I’m a Father, Husband, and God willing on a mission to build something truly special.

I started Tempest with a straightforward goal: give Tulsa-area homeowners the best possible garage door experience with clear and honest communication, top notch workmanship, and a service experience they feel good about.

Why I Started Tempest

Working in the garage door industry showed me how much the details matter. Time after time I’d see halfway done work, dishonest suggestions, and repairs that just don’t hold up.

What it all comes down to is transparency, honest recommendations, and going above and beyond with any job.

So, we take time to find the cause of a problem. Then explain the options. Complete approved work. Then double check the door’s operation before calling the job finished.

I started Tempest because I wanted to build a company around those details—and take personal responsibility for the experience homeowners receive.

A garage door problem can interrupt your entire day. My goal is to make getting it fixed straightforward: help you understand what’s happening, explain what I recommend and why, and deliver work I’m proud to stand behind.

An Experience That Stayed With Me

I once visited an incredibly kind couple whose garage door wouldn’t open all the way. They had recently paid another technician to replace the springs and bearings. But when he ran the door afterward, the original problem was still there.

They told me he explained that the motor “just needed to cool down.” Because they traveled for work, several weeks passed before they could have someone else look at it.

When I inspected the door and opener, I found a worn trolley on their older screw-drive opener. It could no longer maintain its grip on the screw as the door opened. A thorough inspection should have identified that issue.

What stayed with me wasn’t the missed diagnosis, we all make mistakes. It was that these homeowners had trusted someone, paid for a repair, were lied to, and then left with the same problem.

Honesty had always mattered to me, but experiences like this reinforced how I wanted to approach every job—and the standards I would build Tempest around.

Find the cause. Be transparent. Explain the options honestly. Verify that the problem is resolved before calling the work complete.

That’s the responsibility I take into every garage.
